On Saturday October 19, 2019 the Cambridge Rocket Club hosted it’s twelfth model rocket launch of the season. The Fall weather greeted us with cool temperatures that warmed up to 12 degrees, clear blue skies and very calm winds that managed to gust up to 15 kph as the day wore on.
We had a total of 11 members on site flying a total of 36 model rockets that included cluster models, two stage models, scale models, F & G powered models and an on board video camera rocket (Cineroc 808 clone). We managed to burn a total of 50 model rocket engines with a total impulse of 1,398 Newtons. A good time was had by all as we most likely enjoyed the final “fair” weather launch of the year.
At noon we had an informal membership meeting where those present were brought up to speed on the clubs plans and given an opportunity to voice their opinions. It was an informative meeting and many of the ideas discussed will be incorporated into next year’s CRC launch schedule.
We have two more CRC launches scheduled this year, November 9th and December 7th. These launches are weather susceptible and due to the expected low turn out, it will be run as a “Mini Launch” where participants will be asked to bring out their own launch systems and or share them. Stay tuned for updates.
