On October 3rd the Cambridge Rocket Club completed it’s 10th launch of the year, an amazing feat considering the COVID-19 crisis. This launch was a make-up launch for a weather related postponement last week. The temperatures were cool under overcast skies and very light winds, less that 10 KPH much of the day. We managed to launch a total of 39 model rockets and 2 radio control rocket gliders. The rockets included several “G” powered rockets, Precision Egg lofting test flights, scale models, 2 and 3 stage models and 2 cluster models. The success rate was very high and all models were recovered. We also had a high school student in attendance gathering information for a school project.
By the end of the day we burned 52 model rocket engines with a theoretical total impulse of 1,599 Newtons.
Please note that our next launch has been rescheduled for SUNDAY OCTOBER 18th. Launch Site location to be confirmed prior to the launch.
